Locally she volunteers on the Beautification Committee of the Board of Directors of Keep Manatee Beautiful. Tammy also contributes to Living Out East magazine with monthly articles to educate homeowners in Manatee and Sarasota Counties.

In addition, Tammy offers consulting services tailored to specific landscape issues on an international basis through her parent company, Think Global LLC.

Locally, in September, the Sarasota County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) awarded Tammy the 2009 Hall of Fame "Entrepreneurship" Award and also named her a finalist for the "Green-to-Gold" category. In the same month, Keep Manatee Beautiful awarded BTS the "Public Service Award for Small Business and Industry Partnership".

In 2008, Tammy won the prestigious "Guy Hudson Award" by the Keep Sarasota County Beautiful Advisory Board. BTS' 2008 awards included "Small Business of the Year" from the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, and the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. "Think Green Small Business" award from the Sarasota County Chamber of Commerce. BTS was also a finalist in the "Business of the Year" given by the Tampa Bay Business Journal and was designated "Best Green Business of the Year" by Sarasota Magazine's BIZ941 Publication.

Tammy has been invited as a guest speaker to diverse conferences such as the Florida Seed Association, International Bonsai Association, Caribbean ISA Workshop in Puerto Rico, US Watermelon Association, Tomato Institute, Symposium of the Evolution of Landscape, and the International Workshop on Microbial and Mycorrhizal Fungus in Mexico. She was formally one of the first Board members of the Pesticide Applicators Professional Association and Secretary to the Executive Board of the California Agricultural Production Consultant's Association where she was honored as Pest Control Advisor of the Year.
